Book Week Dress-Up Parade

What an amazing week last week!  Books to buy, stories read by other teachers, stories read by seniors and a dress-up parade.  The photos are here, better late than never!  A special mouse even visited us!

Our Class Dojo

Strike Percussion

A wonderfully talented group of percussionists from the Wellington-based group 'Strike' visited Ilam School on Tuesday 24 May. 

It was loud! It was fast! It was FUN! 

Even Emily was up on stage performing on some Pacific Island drums. Here is a taster of the amazing performance.

PJ and Pizza Day

Coming to school in our pyjamas saves so much time!  We should do this all the time - we may never have to get dressed again!

Small Sticks Hockey

We have been learning some hockey skills.  We can now dribble the ball and stop it.  How clever!

Smile Seat

We had the Smile Seat at school for one week.  This is a place where you can sit and chat to another person.  It might be someone you know or someone you don't.  There were some pockets on the seat with topics or ideas to talk about, but we didn't need any help with that.

Ballroom Dance

We have been learning some ballroom dancing with Dr Joyce and Miss Helen.  We have learned the Rhythm Foxtrot and the Meringue and we actually think we are pretty good at it too.

And here is another type of dancing we like to do at clean up time.  There are simply no limits to our talents.
